A Three Legged Stool
With the aim to show the supporting structure of a stool, steel sheet are being implemented into this unique chair that eventually serve as the allurement of the stool. I was inspired by 3 Leaf Oxalis plant. The three legged structured depicted the root of the plant that is upholding the entire plant, which formed the same theory as the stool.
This design is made up of 3 piece of steel sheet, 1 beech wood for the base and 3 angled beech woods structured that act as the leg of the stool. This will create a stylish and sturdy appeal. A Three-Legged Stool can also be flat- packed for easy and low-cost transportation. It is also effortless to assemble by fastening the pieces together using standard wing nuts, resulting in a very low carbon foot-print.
A Three-Legged Stool can be customise into different colour by changing the steel sheet with the procedure of unfastening the standard wing screw thread.
Although it act as a stool for the user to sit on, there is also a secondary functions that is the consumer can place their belonging at the bottom of the stool so as to make it more convenient instead of holding it at all times.
The proportion of the stool fits the sitting posture of the human in a ergonomically approach.
